This is the story of someone we thought had left, only to realize they’ve taken root deep within us. "The Key In My Hand" explores an inevitable presence that slowly becomes a part of us, consuming our very identity over time. Lost in the labyrinth of one’s own mind, do we truly want to be free, or have we grown accustomed to the captivity? Perhaps the key to escape has been in our palm all along, yet we are simply afraid to open it. Through a blend of atmospheric alternative rock and progressive metal, the song conveys the deepest and most intense states of self-alienation.
