YHVH instructs the children of Israel to bring “pure beaten olive oil” to feed “the everlasting flame” within the sanctuary, the light provided by the Menorah, which the priests are to keep lit from morning to evening. The priests would attend to the flame, but the people of the nation must provide the fuel to keep it burning

Next, the instructions are given for the holy garments that the priests must wear during his services to YAH, including the patterns for the intricate elements of the high-priests outfit. This is followed with additional instructions about the seven-day ritual consecrations and holy offerings the priests must adhere to prior to their temple service. Finally the instructions for the altar of incense are given, highlighting that, although Terumah was about the construction of YAH’s dwelling-place, Tetzaveh is about the service of the people in YAH’s presence.
