In the no man’s land stand white, silent trees.
Their blossoms fall softly between good and evil.
No one planted them, no one owns them —
they simply bloom on the borders people invent.

The speaker addresses the heart:

“Sleep here, on the very border,
where danger breathes but hides.
We lie on a thin edge,
belonging to neither side.”

Sleep becomes the other face of the border —
a place where you neither hate nor flee.

The earth remembers countless footsteps, ploughed down to the bone.
Yet tonight it turns into a rootless cradle —
a refuge for those who have seen
how anger and “holy” verdicts break the world,
and still choose to remain in the middle,
eyes open, without blindness.

In the bridge comes a quiet vow:
if the night comes for us,
let it find us without fear and without borrowed hatred.
Let our names stay out of the history books —
what matters is that this small, bare border
remained a world we managed to protect.

In the end, the heart is lulled again:
white petals circle above it,
far-off flags rise and fall,
and here, in the thin and dangerous night,
a few “borderline” hearts guard a tiny space
where a human being can still remain human.
