But that's not all. Beyond the rooftops, I spot Gwyrch Castle standing proud in the distance, a silent sentinel overlooking the coastline. The Great Orme looms on the horizon like a legend carved into the landscape. And far out at sea, the wind farm emerges—a line of giants on the edge of the world.

Abergele itself is an ancient market town with a history that stretches back centuries. Traditionally, it served as a hub for local trade and agriculture, supporting the surrounding rural communities. Despite its proximity to the coast, Abergele has maintained its identity as a market town rather than developing into a seaside resort. Its historic markets and fairs were central to the town's economy and social life, reflecting its longstanding role in the region.

Gwrych Castle, visible from the coastline, is a striking example of 19th-century Gothic Revival architecture. Built between 1812 and 1822 by Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh, the castle was designed as a memorial to his mother’s ancestors, the Lloyds of Gwrych. The castle stands on the site of an earlier Elizabethan house and is surrounded by 250 acres of gardens and parkland, offering extensive views of the Irish Sea.

The nearby town of Pensarn has a rich history as a coastal settlement in North Wales, traditionally serving as a fishing village and later developing into a popular seaside resort. Its proximity to landmarks like Gwrych Castle and the scenic coastline has shaped its character and appeal over the centuries.
