This Saturday, June 21, we pause to recognize the history, resilience, and beauty of the Indigenous peoples of Canada.

On Agents of Hope, we are deeply honoured to share the story of Marie-Émilie Lacroix—also known by her Innu name, Missinak Kameltoutasset. A midwife, teacher, social worker, and leader in First Nations ministry, she has spent nearly five decades walking alongside her community in healing and hope.

Born Innu and adopted as an infant, Marie-Émilie’s journey has been one of restoration: of culture, identity, and purpose. She reminds us that Indigenous peoples have long known the Creator, hearing His voice through the wind, the rivers, and the land. Today, she invites us all to pray for healing, unity, and a renewed walk with God across all nations and cultures.
