The half-hour programme spoke of Ostracism, Suicide and Anorexia

I found this important as a few religions use this exclusion or ostracism, sustained shunning as a weapon. A mechanism of damning chide meant to control those perceived unruly as well as to control onlookers.

The effects of those who have experienced it speak on the programme. Mainly contributing though is peer-reviewed study results by a research doctor in North America which is the mainstay of that portion of this Medmatters Radio 4 programme. 12 minutes of the 30min.

The scientist in the programme was from Purdue University (Indiana) which when i first heard mentioned thought was a joke as 'perdu' is French for 'lost' or 'missing'.
