WINS-FM: End of Alt 92.3, Start of 1010 WINS Simulcast (10/27/22)

Описание: This morning at 9am, after over seven decades of music (not including a year and a half of Hot Talk) on 92.3 in New York, Alt 92.3 came to an end, replaced by a simulcast of WINS 1010 AM, the higher rated and more historic of Audacy's two All-News stations in New York.

Unlike Audacy's switch in Los Angeles last year to an all news simulcast, Alt 92.3 was given two and a half weeks to perfect it's farewell. That farewell took place this morning with a 3 hour show featuring all staff DJs at the time celebrating the history of 92.3 in New York.

The final song on Alt was "New York, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down" by Brooklyn-based LCD Soundsystem. After that song and a plug noting that the Alt format will continue on the station's HD2 channel, WINS was given the reins. At 8:50, WINS started the simulcast with two special interviews. The first was with Audacy's New York Market President, Chris Olivero. The second was with famous Broadway performer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, known best for his lead role portrayal in the musical Hamilton. Miranda also officially made the countdown to begin the simulcast. After a launch piece and the first Legal ID, WINS-FM was officially into it's first newscast.

This aircheck is a lot shorter than I wanted it to be due to issues I was having with the Audacy app. This aircheck covers the last 20 minutes and change of Alt and the switch to 1010 WINS. All songs except for the final one were clipped.
