Is it a mitzvah to do the right moral thing?
Is doing the right thing good for us?
Does God notice all of the tiny steps that go into us doing the right thing?
Is the good that we do better than we had previously thought?
Is the bad that we do a bit less bad and grievous than we had previously thought?
If so, then our Torah Bookkeeping is way off from the truth, and we are doing way better than we had previously thought.
We must always strive to do our best, which is also the best for us. We will be handsomely rewarded & appreciated for it, and proud of the choices we make. Our shame will gradually melt away in the face of our hard-earned moments of greatness & accurate Torah bookkeeping.
