The 11mm-22mm Canon lens is a great lens in terms of field of view for vlogging, but I still feel that the Canon stabilisation leaves a lot to be desired. Fantastic if you keep the camera still but once you start to walk around, that's when things get a little uncomfortable for me.
The lens itself works really well in practise. Focus is good and it can even get in dead close. At 11mm, there's a lot of depth of field and yet, once you get close up to something, you still get excellent bokeh.
The field of view tht you get at the 11mm end definitely feels more 'GoPro' like if only the stabilisation was better.
The only way to go is fit a gimbal so that this is no longer such a portable setup. With the camera sitting in a gimbal, results are excellent are exceed the GoPro and Action by far since you can control focus and depth of field so the end result looks much more professional.
My vlogging tests with the Canon M50 are slowly pushing me more towards the Sony ZV1 with its better portability, fast lens (although not that wide) and I suspect, better stabilisation. Once I've finished testing lenses on the Canon (two more to go), then I will try the Sony out on a real vlog test out in the field just as I did with the Canon M50.
