Описание: In this video, Rohit Ranjan (B.Tech IIT Kharagpur) explains a beautiful IIT JEE 1998 Rotational Mechanics problem using the Principle of Conservation of Mechanical Energy.
We analyse a uniform disc of radius R with an attached particle of mass m fixed at its edge. The disc rotates freely about a horizontal chord PQ located at a distance R/4 from the centre. Initially, the disc is vertical with the particle at the topmost point.
