In today’s experiment we have one of our volunteers, Milena, show us how plastic bags are actually leak proof. Using sharp pencils, you will discover the way that plastic bags behave when they are punctured and ultimately prevent water loss. This experiment illustrates what makes a common material, called low density polyethylene or LDPE, perfect for packaging . For this experiment you’ll need a zip lock bag, water, and sharp rounded pencils. You can skip ahead to 0:23 to jump straight to the experiment!
