Pike Strikes

Описание: On our inland dives, we are often lucky enough to come face to face with large pike.
These patient predators will hang still in the water waiting for their opportunity to strike an unsuspecting prey. Fortunately for us divers, they seem completely unbothered by our presence, and allow us to get very close.
On rare occasions, we get to see them strike. Here is a short compilation of 3 times I have caught this behaviour on video. 2 of these are in the Viscount aircraft cockpit at Stoney cove. The smaller fish use the enclosed cockpit to hang out as they consider it a safe confined location… The pike know this, and use it as a snack bar! If you see a pike hanging in here, and wait long enough, there is a fair chance of seeing it strike. I love that on one of these videos the pike cruises right past me and my camera, and then strikes directly towards my dive buddy. Shame she wasn’t filming on her camera as well!
