What is a server?
Imagine a library.
Books are stored there so anyone can read them anytime they want.
A server works the same way.
A server is just a computer.
But there is one big difference.
A server is a computer that is always ON.
No sleep.
No shutdown.
It stores websites, apps, photos, videos, and data.
Everything you see online is sitting on some server.
When you open a website,
your phone or laptop sends a request.
It’s like asking:
“Can I see this page?”
The server receives that request
and sends the information back.
Text.
Images.
Videos.
That’s why millions of people
can open the same website at the same time.
Your phone or laptop is made for one user.
Servers are made for everyone.
That’s why servers exist.
They store.
They serve.
They stay online.
This is Day 9 of a 100-day tech series.
In the next video, you’ll understand what the cloud really is and how it connects to servers.
Save this video.
Servers are the backbone of the internet.
