Do you like this exercise? Let’s give these variations a try:

1.   Person A and B can switch roles every time they exchange a sentence. Person A says what he sees (or in later rounds what thinks or feels) while looking at person B and immediately person B says what he sees while looking at person A. This way it becomes kind of a conversation. You will see that what person A said to person B will affect what person B will say while looking at person A.

2.   Tell person B to repeat aloud each sentence person A just said to him. So if person A, for example, says, “I feel happy when you smile at me”, person B will respond, “You feel happy when I smile at you.” This will help the person being observed to really listen to the things he has heard. Even if the observed disagrees with the observer, he still has to repeat what the observer is saying.
