Nanaimo BC is set to welcome 10 cruise ships in 2026, ballooning up from the 4 ships the city had in 2024. The re-birth of this vital tourism sector is a welcome sign to many business owners in Nanaimo. The Nanaimo Port Authority says after a successful pilot last year, Holland America has added Nanaimo as a stop to four of their seven day Great Bear Rainforest cruises for this year and next. The port authority adds they are targeting smaller to mid-sized cruise ships with one to two-thousand passengers.
