Ielts Life Skills A1 test is a test for those candidates who wants to join his/her spouse lives in UK. It is also known as spousal visa test or marriage certificate test. This test is based on two skills therefore speaking and listening.
Speaking is major part of the test. It lasts for round about 14 15 minutes. It is divided into three different parts. In part 1 examiner asks question related to personal background information along with other questions related to family, interests and free time activities.
In part 2 examiner gives a topic to candidate, preparation time for the given topic is one minute. Candidate is supposed to speak on topic for two minutes or till the time examiner does not stop. Afterwards cross questions are asked.
In part 3 pair is made in which either candidates are given topics. Each candidate has to ask questions at least 8 to 10 from his/her partners topic or till examiner stops.
listening section is based on 2 to 3 minutes where candidates have to listen to played recording and write answers. Examiner will ask by the end of recording. 2 to 5 listening questions are played. Candidates need to answer correctly in order to pass their test.
