Sir Keir Starmer braced the UK for a long war in the Middle East as he addressed the nation from 10 Downing Street.
The Prime Minister told a press conference on Thursday afternoon: “This conflict could continue for some time.”
He also insisted the UK-US “special relationship” was operating “right here”, following criticism from Donald Trump over Britain’s response to the conflict.
The PM said he stood by his decision not to join the US in striking Iran.
