Through NDA candidates get commissioned in IAF, Army and Navy. The medical will be conducted at respective hospitals pertaining to your region and SSB centres. Initial medical board is conducted at the designated hospitals. Series of medical tests are conducted to check your medical fitness thoroughly. The time taken for this procedure can be between 7-15 days. Once a candidate goes through all the tests successfully, he/ she is declared medically fit. If there is any discrepancy in the medical of the candidate with respect to the medical standards, he may be declared permanent/ temporary unfit. You will be screened for your height and weight at AFSB. In case you do not meet the height criterion when you report to AFSB, you may not be tested. Overweight/obese candidate would be issued with a letter of caution and advised to reduce weight within the specified limits before reporting for medicals.
