Fun Facts: It took 3 tries for Take On Me to become a hit. It wasn't until the iconic music video in 1985 when it became a bonafide global phenomenon. The video had over 3,000 hand-drawn frames and won 6 MTV music awards in 1986. It was Norway's first #1 Hit in the United States.
The high note? It's real. The song famously ends with a sustained high F#5 sung by lead singer Morten Harket — one of the highest notes hit by a male pop vocalist. Harket’s vocal range and breath control became legendary, and he could still hit that note live decades later.
