Venezuela has begun sending significantly larger crude oil shipments to India after U.S. sanctions were eased, marking a notable revival in energy trade between Caracas and New Delhi. Trading houses including Vitol and Trafigura have chartered very large crude carriers (VLCCs) — giants capable of carrying up to 2 million barrels each — for March loading at Venezuela’s José terminal, with at least three VLCCs bound for India. Venezuelan exports rebounded to about 800,000 bpd in January on eased sanctions, signaling a renewed energy corridor to India.
