Molori Mashuma is a world-class, luxury tented camp located on a private concession in the pristine and untouched wilderness of Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe – a UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Zimbabwe.
The word Mana means ‘four’ in Shona. Mana refers to the four large natural pools that were once ox-bow lakes, carved out by the Zambezi River thousands of years ago as it changed its course northwards.
Located in northern Zimbabwe on the southern banks of the Zambezi River, Mana Pools is home to some of the highest hippo and elephant concentrations in Africa.
Mana Pools is characterised by lush forests with mahogany, wild fig, ebony, mopane, and iconic baobab trees that extend to the rugged southern escarpment.
It is home to a variety of wildlife, including lion, leopard, hyena, cheetah, buffalo, African wild dog and various species of antelope.
The area is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 350 bird species calling it home.
