Описание: Bihar to get its first BJP-led government after Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary is set to become the State’s new Chief Minister on April 15, 2026. The appointment follows Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation after he was elected as a Rajya Sabha member last week.

Mr. Choudhary was elected as the BJP’s Legislature Party leader, following a meeting of the party’s MLAs. The BJP finished as the single largest party with 89 seats after the 2025 Assembly elections in the State.
