Munnar is the most beautiful town in Kerala in the Western Ghats which starts from an altitude of 4400 ft - 8800 ft height. The temperature in winters goes down to 0 degrees and sometimes even lesser than that. The best time to visit Munnar is monsoon where we get to see scenic valleys, large waterfalls and lush green mountains but it is a little risky to travel in the monsoon which is why we visited Munnar in the month of February. The weather remains sunny in the afternoon but pretty cold in the night.
Munnar is also known for World's Highest Tea Plantation which happens in Kolukkumalai. Along with the greenery there are endless lakes in between the mountains which makes the landscapes even more beautiful. We visited Mattupetty Dam on the second day of our trip, the water was so beautiful we couldn't stop ourselves from kayaking.
