Roman Catholic Doctrine of "Absolute Divine Simplicity" takes its roots from Neoplatonic doctrines, but aside from that it first finds its home in the theology of Origen and Arius, whose worldviews were crushed by St. Athanasius' biblical exposition on creation that fundamentally rests on the distinction between God's essence, persons, will, and energy.
