CCTV footage shows the interior of Abuzar Mosque in Tehran being damaged on Thursday, January 8, a day before the mosque was reportedly set on fire, according to state media. The video shows individuals dressed in black vandalizing furniture inside the mosque before one person approaches and destroys the surveillance camera.
The incident comes amid widespread unrest in Iran. A U.S.-based rights group said more than 500 people have been killed during protests, with thousands arrested, as tensions escalate between Tehran and Washington.
