This is our version of the Xbee shield! This shield works with all XBee modules including the Series 1 and Series 2.5, standard and Pro version. The Shield also has a switch which you can use to switch between the hardware serial port and digital pins 4 and 5 for software serail! The regulator is a 500 mAh 3.3V, so it has plenty of power for Xbee Pros!
The JS Xbee shield allows an Arduino board to communicate wirelessly using a wireless module. It is based on the Xbee modules from Digi, but can use any module with the same footprint. The module can communicate up to 100 feet indoors or 300 feet outdoors (with line-of-sight). It can be used as a serial/usb replacement or you can put it into a command mode and configure it for a variety of broadcast and mesh networking options. The shields breaks out each of the Xbee's pins to a through-hole solder pad.
The shield includes all 4 headers required to connect it to an Arduino board. All you need is the Arduino Uno or the Mega. If you don't need an SD card holder and want to save a few bucks, this shield is awesome!
