A day after Abhishek Banerjee was allegedly attacked, another TMC MP came under attack. TMC's Kalyan Banerjee alleged he suffered a head injury after being mobbed outside a police station in Hooghly. Videos showed a crowd chanting "chor, chor, chor" as the MP arrived at the spot. Things took a dramatic turn when the TMC MP suddenly fell to the ground. He was seen holding his head as security personnel struggled to control the crowd.

Security personnel intervened as others helped Banerjee get off the ground. Following the incident, the MP staged a dharna, alleging that the police failed to act. BJP denied the allegations, claiming locals were expressing anger against TMC leaders.
