WannaFlix : VPN to connect to banned websites/apps like Google/WhatsApp/Facebook/Instagram/NetFlix/ChatGpt, etc
Google Translate: Offline Chinese (Simplified) to English and vice-versa downloaded in advance
Baidu Maps : Best for Navigation but everything is in Chinese (Alternative is Apple Maps only for iPhone users)
Meituan or Ele.me: Food delivery app (optional)
Baidu : Chinese Google (optional)

In this video I start my journey at Dali, a city rich in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. 🌿✨

I begin my adventure at Chongsheng Temple, a magnificent Buddhist complex that left me in awe. The intricate temples and grand statues depict various forms of Avalokiteshvara, Maitreya Buddha, Wei Tuo Buddha, and Shakyamuni, alongside kings and warriors from the ancient Dali and Nanzhao Kingdoms. The view of Erhai Lake from the top of the main temple building was simply spectacular!

Next, I visit the Fortune God Temple (Zhao Gongming) before heading to the legendary Three Pagodas, one of the most iconic landmarks of Yunnan. These ancient pagodas, dating back over 1,000 years, have stood the test of time—surviving earthquakes and wars. The central Qianxun Pagoda, towering at 69 meters (226 feet), houses a golden Buddha statue inside, but unfortunately, due to renovations, I couldn't enter. However, the surrounding landscape and reflections of the pagodas in the water made for a truly magical sight.

To wrap up the day, I hop on a tuk-tuk ride to Dali Old City, a historic town that was once an important stop on the Ancient Silk Route. I explore the charming streets, indulge in some delicious sweet and savory local snacks, and finally settle down for a hearty dinner of dumplings and vegetarian noodles—a perfect way to end the day! 🍜🥟
