Some recently taken drone footage of the winter sunlight creating a nice beam of light over the ancient megalithic Loughcrew Cairn Tombs in Oldcastle, county Meath, Ireland. These tombs are over 5300 years old, perhaps even older and may in fact outdate the relatively more famous Newgrange tombs located in Brú na Bóinne. These tombs, like all of Ireland's ancient sites are a national treasure that should be respected and preserved so that future generations can marvel at them and honor the people who created them so long ago.
I have been interested in applying my drone for use in archaeological investigation in tandem with remote sensing using NDVI and infrared imaging for several years now and I hope to make an NDVI image of these tombs taken in the infrared soon with an accompanying video.
