How To Make Oksusu-ppang (Korean Style Cornbread)
Preparation: 20 minutes + Sitting Bake: 25-30 minutes
Makes: 4-6 Servings
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups cornmeal
2 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1½ cup milk
1 large egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon butter, softened
DIRECTIONS
1. Cornmeal Mixture; In a large mixing bowl, add cornmeal, sugar, salt, egg, vegetable oil, and milk. Mix well. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
2. Add baking powder and mix well.
3. Grease the baking pan with butter. Pour batter into the pan.
4. Bake in a preheated oven at 204°C / 400°F for 30 minutes. Cook a little more until light brown in the middle. Use a toothpick to check.
5. Move the cornbread to a cutting board. Cut into servings.
6. Best serve hot and with your choice of spread. Try buttermilk (butter and condensed milk),. So delicious!
