Junior doctors’ strikes will pose immediate “risks to patient safety” while having a longer-term “catastrophic impact” on NHS waiting lists with “up to 350,000” appointments and operations this week being cancelled, the chief executive of the NHS Confederation has warned.
Matthew Taylor urged both the Government and the BMA to start negotiations rather than engaging in a “battle of rhetoric”.
