Proximal cone beam CT with a power injector gives a much better look at the tumor and its feeding vessels, allowing more accurate mapping and better treatment planning. When performing selective cone beams to calculate MERD or PERFUSE volumes, however, he avoids power injection because it can cause reflux. In those cases, hand injection offers much more control and reduces the risk of complications.
