Muxingye Chen's interdisciplinary practice blends experimental film, CGI, 3D scanning/modeling, field recording, and performance to explore objects, the body, time, and space, creating immersive works that provoke both intellectual and emotional engagement. Through solo and collaborative projects, he investigates Chinese diasporic history in the Netherlands, fragmented self-identity in digital nomadism, and post-colonial discourse, while also examining the interplay between cultural identity, digital control mechanisms, and post-human theories of body-information-material relationships.
His work delves into the cybernetic embodiment of data, the notion of a natural body, and the ethical implications of these evolving dynamics.
