Surrey, and London (d. 1547), Member of Parliament for Malmesbury - Azure five lozenges or, each charged with an escallop gules on a chief of the second a griffin’s head between two fleurs-de-lis of the third.

2) Edgar of co. Suffolk, England - granted to William Edgare of Great Glemham, co. Berwick, Scotland - descended from Richard Edgar of Wedderlie (fl. 14th century), who had son Robert Edgar, who had son John Edgar, who had son Adam Edgar, who had son Robert Edgar (fl. 1497), who had sons James, Robert, Oliver, and John – later there was John Edgar, Member of Parliament, grandson of Nicol Edgar of Edinburgh (d. 1667) – later there was Alexander Edgar (1776–1820), of Auchingrammont, Lanarkshire and Wedderelie, Jamaica - Sable a lion rampant argent. 7) John Edgar (fl. c 1685-1722), merchant, lived in Dantzic, Poland, son of Thomas Edgar of Keithock – also living in Poland as a merchant in Poland was Gilbert Edgar of Shearington, co. Dumfries - Sable a lion rampant argent between two garbs in chief of the second, banded gules and a bezant in base. Crest: A withered oak branch sprouting out leaves proper. Motto: Apparet, quod latebat.

8) Wilfred Haythorne Edgar (born 1864), barrister-at-law, only son of Rev. Joseph Haythorne Edgar, formerly Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery - Party per fesse sable and argent, a lion rampant counterchanged, armed, and langued gules. Crest: An arm in armour, the hand bare and grasping a dagger, point downwards, all proper; and in an escroll above the same this Motto, "Maun do it," and on a compartment below the shield the additional Motto, " Salutem disponit Deus."
