Climbing Lys Sajous on Paroi des Lys Aug 2024

Описание: 29 Aug 2024 - Fi and I (Ron) had an early start to drive up the rough single mountain track and climb the five pitch sport climb by Jean-Michel Cambon called Lys Sajous on Paroi des Lys in the Ecrins so we could get down before the heat of the day for an ice cream and cool off in the lake at Roche de Rame!

We'd previously climbed another of Cambon's routes Dura Silex sed lex looking for the route and this was our third time at the crag before we finally found the start. The route shares the first few bolts with some of the other routes before moving sharp right below the overhang through the trees!

Having been there three times in August and having climbed Dura Silex, sed lex and knowing the best abseil descent lines it was great to find a multi-pitch mountain crag just up from the busy Ponteil that had few if any other climbers on it!

The route has five pitches at 5c, 5c, 6a, 5b, 5a before it joins up with the upper pitches of Dura Silex, sed lex where you can continue up Dura Silex or join the abseil line at the fifth belay and two 50 metre abseil will take you back to the start.
