DIY: Cage Liners for Critter or Ferret Nation

Описание: Learn how to DIY Cage liners for critter and ferret nation cages. I have a Deluxe Critter Nation (two story) for my ferrets. I refuse to pay the price for Cage liners when it’s fairly easy to make them myself. All you need is a sewing machine, some fabric (fleece is used most often), some scissors, pins, thread, and a ruler. Or you can a purchase cage liner sets that come with a matching hammock on my Esty Shop FerretTails at:

In this video I used fleece and cotton because I am currently heating my home with a wood stove and I think all fleece maybe to hot for the ferrets to lay on. Most of my cage liners are made with just fleece. I always buy extra fabric so I can make add matching ferret hammocks, snuggle sacks, or tunnels to the cage.

***One important thing I want to stress, if you have a pattern or design on your fabric or a certain color you want on top once you put the cage liner on the pan, please make sure you trace the top pan liner upside down. This will ensure the pattern is showing and the liner fits the cut out correctly when you are done sewing and flip the fabric right side out. (See the example in the video)

A tip for caring for your DIY cage liners: I wash my cage liners in cold water and dry them on low heat. I use non-scented detergent or detergent made for babies so that the chemicals do not irritate the ferrets skin.
