Dick Klomp (1947) studeerde af in orgel, kerkmuziek en piano aan het Amsterdams Conservatorium. Sinds 1969 is hij organist van de Doopsgezinde Singelkerk in Amsterdam. Als componist maakte hij (op teksten van Ingrid van Delft) de muziek voor vier Bijbelse musicals die hij met het jeugdkoor van de Singelkerk op veel plaatsen uitvoerde. Dick Klomp gaf orgelconcerten en kooruitvoeringen in Europa, Noord-Amerika en Nieuw Zeeland. Scandinavische - met name Zweedse - orgelliteratuur is zijn specialiteit.

Behalve van zijn musicals zijn er CD’s verschenen met werken van Langlais (orgel en trompet), Zweedse orgelromantiek en kerstmuziek. In 2010 won Dick Klomp in de categorie 'ongediplomeerden' de eerste prijs op het internationale beiaardconcours dat in Bolsward plaats vond en in 2012 behaalde hij het diploma Bachelor of Music aan de Nederlandse Beiaardschool in Amersfoort.

De drie orgelbewerkingen over 'Stille nacht' getuigen van compositorisch vakmanschap, waarmee Dick Klomp op fijnzinnige wijze dit bekende kerstlied muzikaal weet uit te beelden.

Dick Klomp (1947) graduated in organ, church music and piano at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Since 1969, he has been organist at the Baptist Singelkerk in Amsterdam. As a composer he wrote the music (on texts by Ingrid van Delft) for four biblical musicals which he performed in many places, with the youth choir of the Singelkerk. Dick Klomp gave organ recitals and choir performances in Europe, North America and New Zealand. His speciality is Scandinavian, and in particular Swedish, organ literature.

Besides his musicals, he has released CDs with works of Langlais (organ and trumpet), romantic Swedish organ pieces and Christmas music. In 2010, Dick Klomp won first prize in the category 'without diploma' at the international carillon competition in Bolsward, and in 2012, he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Music at the Dutch Carillon School in Amersfoort.

The three organ arrangements of 'Silent Night' demonstrate the compositional skill and sensitivity with which Klomp approaches this famous Christmas song.
