Enrico Baj (Italian, born October 31, 1924 in Milan – died June 16, 2003 in Vergiate), artist and author, was one of the leading figures of the avant-garde of the 1950s. Baj studied at the Brera Academy of Art and at the University of Milan, where he obtained his law degree. In 1951, he founded the nuclear movement with Asger Jorn, which posed against the rational, abstract and geometric art of the time to create an overtly political artistic style.
