Many older laptops, as well as modern netbook models like the Asus Eee PC, have Intel's GMA 950 embedded video. The developer of the GMABooster utility claims that in 945GM/GME/GMS or GSE943/940GML/GU Express chipsets, the video core runs at significantly lower frequencies, usually 133 or 166 MHz instead of 400 MHz, and his program allows to restore the standard value without increasing voltage or any other dangerous manipulations.

Intel GMA 950 allows not only running the simplest computer games but also knows how to render Aero and QuartzGL interfaces and supports video decoding, so a more than twofold increase in frequency should not go unnoticed. Futuremark 3DMark06 synthetic test shows that some graphics operations are about 2 times faster after restoring the "native" frequency.

The author also points out that some utilities erroneously determine the operating frequency of iGMA 950 on the above-mentioned chipset models as 400 MHz. These programs simply give a value corresponding to the adapter model, but not to the real one.
