Mercoledì 12 ottobre, alle ore 20, il Regio inaugura la Stagione 2016-2017 con La bohème di Giacomo Puccini. Gianandrea Noseda, sul podio dell’Orchestra e del Coro del Teatro Regio, affronta la ricca partitura di Puccini, in un nuovo allestimento firmato da Àlex Ollé, regista de La Fura dels Baus.
L’Orchestra e il Coro del Teatro sono diretti da Gianandrea Noseda, attento interprete dei capolavori creati da Puccini, per il quale «La bohème è un’opera difficilissima, pochi altri titoli del melodramma italiano hanno questa complessità. È una partitura lavorata in filigrana che mette in moto un perfetto meccanismo teatrale, perseguito con acume, ma delicatissimo. È un’opera che definirei “modernista”, piuttosto che tradizionalista; utilizza di fatto un linguaggio profondamente novecentesco, con una velocità teatrale ed emotiva serrata».

Àlex Ollé, uno dei direttori artistici e regista de La Fura dels Baus – il dirompente collettivo teatrale che ha segnato una svolta nella storia della regia del teatro d’opera – mette in scena per la prima volta La bohème. Secondo il regista catalano: «La bohème è un’opera nella quale i più giovani si sbarazzano di tutto ciò che impedisce loro di volare e si alimentano solo della propria vitalità; la vera fame dei protagonisti è una fame di vita. La mia Bohème è ambientata in una periferia contemporanea, è lì che secondo me si trova la matrice intellettuale del futuro; quei luoghi malfamati e poveri non sono gradevoli, però sono autentici. In questa ambientazione, la vita e l’arte, così come succedeva nel Romanticismo, appartengono ai superstiti».

open the 2016-2017 season with a new production of Puccini’s masterpiece

On Wednesday 12th October at 20:00, the Regio inaugurates the new Opera Season 2016-2017 with La bohème by Giacomo Puccini. Gianandrea Noseda, conducting the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Regio, tackles Puccini’s rich score, in a new staging by Àlex Ollé, the director of La Fura dels Baus.
The attentive interpreter of the masterpieces created by Puccini, Gianandrea Noseda, conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro. Noseda affirms: “La bohème is a difficult opera; few other titles of Italian opera have its complexity. The opera has a score worked in minute detail that sets in motion a perfect theatrical mechanism, insightful, yet very delicate. It is an opera that I would call “modern”, rather than traditional; it in fact uses a twentieth century language, with theatrical and emotional speed”. Àlex Ollé, one of the artistic directors of La Fura dels Baus - the most innovative theatre company that created a turning point in the history of the opera - sets the scene for La bohème for the first time. According to the Catalan director, “La bohème is an opera that allows the young generation to get rid of everything that prevents them from flying, feeding only on their own vitality; the real hunger of the protagonists is the hunger for life. My Bohème is set in a modern city outskirt, it is there where, in my opinion, the intellectual matrix of the future happens; in ugly, disreputable and poor places, but authentic. In this kind of environment, life and art, as well as they did in the Romanticism, belong to the survivors”.
