Speedy LG lifts at Blk 114 Punggol

Описание: This block never fails to get me jealous whenever I walk past it. With 4 LG lifts for only 17 floors, all of which run at 2m/s, you almost never have to wait long for a lift to respond to your call. Very few residential buildings have a lift system this good, and I dare say this lift system is a bit overkill even though this block has more residential units per floor than surrounding blocks. I did take a ride on all 4 cars, but only filmed Lifts C and D. Lift B had its voiceover worn out in 2020 but they replaced it with a higher pitched voiceover. More recently, Lifts C and D had their voiceovers swapped which is extremely weird (Lift D used to have the Dong Yang voiceover Lift C has now, and vice versa). Even though they make some shaft noises upon departing or arriving the bottom floor, they still run very smoothly after 20 years in service with no shaking felt.

Based on data plaques on the interlock as well as on top the car, these are actually LG-Otis lifts which is essentially Sigma. For some reason, even though the Sigma brand was established in 2000, it was not used in Singapore until 2004. As such, LG-Otis lifts installed here from 2000-2004 still carry the LG branding, but missing the trademark logo.
