As explained in previous videos, Lionel, Marx, K-Line, and other brands of tubular track offer many advantages, including low cost and ease of modification. However, the classic 1920s tinplate look leaves much to be desired for realism.

But never fear! With just a few simple and inexpensive upgrades, this traditional track can be made to look as good as - or even better than - most modern molded plastic track types.
