In this video, we shall take you into the world of African entertainment and shining the light on the most famous African entertainers. The entertainment industry in Africa has grown enormously in recent times and has made many individuals who are entertainers to be famous and very recognizable both in Africa and on the world scene. Some of these entertainers even find it hard to go grocery shopping without paparazzi following them everywhere and also screaming fans asking for their autographs or pictures with them. The fans of these entertainers do not only follow them in person but also on social media which is why your favorite entertainers have massive social media followings running into the millions. The explosion of social media has been a great platform for most fans to keep up with their favorite celebrities and show them love through follows, subscription, likes and lovely comments. Social media has also become a means to judge the value credibility of most celebrities as the more famous they are on social media, the more they get endorsement deals, and other company brandings.

Lupita Amondi Nyong'o is a Kenyan-Mexican actress and author. Lupita Amondi Nyong'o was born March 1, 1983 in Mexico City, Mexico, to Kenyan parents, Dorothy Ogada Buyu and Peter Anyang' Nyong'o. In 2013, she impressed cinema audiences in her film debut, as played Patsey in acclaimed director Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave. She was also the lead in MTV's award-winning drama series, Shuga of 2009, appeared in the thriller Non-Stop in 2014 and had roles in the big-budget films Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens in 2015 and The Jungle Book in 2016. Yemi Eberechi Alade, known professionally as Yemi Alade, is a Nigerian Afro pop singer and songwriter who won the Peak Talent Show in 2009, and had a hit with her single "Johnny" in 2014. Her father was a police commissioner of Yoruba descent, while her mother is of Igbo descent. Winning high-profile African music awards and topping 100 million YouTube views for her hit "Johnny" is not enough, the 31 years old currently has 531 thousand followers on twitter, 2.8million followers on facebook and 11.5 million followers on Instagram making her one of the most famous African celebrities. In 2019, her smooth and vibrant music crossed over to U.S. audiences with the help of Beyoncé, who gave Alade a feature in her song "Don't Jealous Me," from the Lion King-inspired companion-to-the-soundtrack ‘The Lion King: The Gift’.

Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, popularly known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz, is a Tanzanian bongo flava recording artist, actor, dancer, philanthropist and a businessman from Tandale, Dar es Salaam. Diamond after launching his career was able to collaborate with numerous African super stars such as Davido, Tekno, Tiwa Savage and a host of many others. He has also collaborated with American singers including Neyo which keeps adding to his fan base. E. POP of Culture made a series shining the light on African celebrities and Diamond Platinum was amongst the African celebrities chosen. The 30-year-old was the first sub-Saharan African singer to get one billion views on his YouTube channel. Over the last 10 years, the award-winning musician has popularized "bongo flava", a uniquely Tanzanian offering: romantic melodies with an urban beat influenced by traditional taarab music from the East African coast. The 30 years old singer has 891.6 thousand twitter followers, 3.1 million Facebook followers, and 10.1 million Instagram followers as of the time of the making of this video.
