The design: side profile wise BMW nailed it, but that rear end could use some work; otherwise in person, I found the new 2 tasteful and fresh for BMW though it’s looks aren’t for everyone. Inside I felt like a parrot talking about it as it's…the same as every new BMW with iDrive 7, live cockpit and similar design as the 3, 4, 5 series…. One unique bit is the LED lit speaker grills on the door panels. What I can say is the driving position is fantastic sitting low IN the car. The chassis is noticeably stiffer and more rigid which I felt over gravel and the cabin is leaps ahead more quiet and premium than before. For a $49k starting price in the M240i xDrive (RWD coming later), this thing is a rocket with AWD… and just $4k more than the UKL-2 based M235i Gran Coupe… this is a no brainer as long as you like the looks and don’t plan on putting anyone over 5ft’10in in the rear two seats.
