Amid rising tensions in the Middle East and uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz, concerns over a possible LPG gas shortage have surfaced across India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level emergency meeting with Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to review the LPG supply situation.
The central government has assured citizens that there is no shortage of domestic cooking gas and that CNG and PNG supplies are being maintained at 100% for household consumers. Meanwhile, oil refineries have been directed to increase LPG production to ensure uninterrupted supply despite global tensions.
Officials have urged the public not to panic as India remains committed to maintaining a stable fuel supply during the Middle East crisis.
