Not yet well publicized in the general or medical communities, many chronic symptoms such as sinusitis, dizziness (or vertigo), ear pain, jaw pain, nasal blockage/stuffiness, facial pain/pressure, eye pain/pressure, tinnitus, abnormal or bad taste or smell, runny nose and many others may be migraine-related and therefore may be alleviated with the same treatment options as migraine headaches. Unfortunately, many patients and doctors alike are unaware of this connection.
Because a relation to migraine disease is not usually suspected, these symptoms are often not treated properly. Many people receive antibiotics, allergy and other medications and occasionally surgery. These medicines may seem to be effective temporarily because the symptoms naturally disappear (as traditional migraines do) but then return again.
Migraine disease is a condition that most commonly affects women. It may be affected by changes in estrogen levels.
