This is a relatively small zoo, better suited to smaller children. One to perhaps two hours is generally sufficient for a family with small children to traverse the entire zoo. The Zoo is very near several major roads, you can expect a steady stream of traffic noise. This facility is also very close to the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.
Even by New York City standards, many folks will find it much too expensive to purchase food or drink from the zoo snack bar. Highly recommend you bring all the food and drink you'll require during your visit.
