Overview & Key Incidents:

Widespread flooding: Heavy monsoon downpours triggered urban flooding across Karachi, submerging streets and disrupting traffic extensively.

Affected neighbourhoods: Severe waterlogging was reported in areas like Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Surjani Town, Federal B Area, Qayyumabad, Malir, Nazimabad, Korangi, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Rainwater inside homes: Flooding extended into residences in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Korangi Crossing, Liaquatabad, Baldia Town, Rafah-e-Aam, Shah Faisal Colony, and other low-lying areas. Some locations witnessed water depths up to four feet.

Fatal incidents: At least five people died due to flooding and associated structural damage—four from a collapsed wall in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and one child in Orangi.

Traffic chaos: Major roads, including Sharea Faisal, University Road, II Chundrigar Road, Nagan Chowrangi, Hub River Road, and Miran Naka, were largely impassable as vehicles stalled or were abandoned.

Flight disruptions: Jinnah International Airport experienced cancellations and delays—at least 8 flights were canceled, and around 20 were delayed. Some inbound flights were diverted.

Gulshan-e-Hadeed: ~75 mm
