Clean water is the number one priority in every preparedness plan. There are two sides to this. First, what happens if the water to your home shuts off. Second, what is actually in your tap water when it is running. Both matter and both impact your health and your resilience when things go wrong.
Start with your tap water. Go to EWG .org and type in your zip code. You might be shocked. Once you see the list for your area, you understand quickly why filtration is not optional.
Now consider a different scenario. The water stops flowing. You need a fresh water source, a way to transport that water, and a way to filter it. This is where smart redundancy comes in.
Redundancy is proper preparedness. You layer multiple systems so that if one fails another steps in. You are never exposed to a single point of failure.
My full system is simple. One active countertop filtration system. A backup system that stays ready. Multiple spare filters. Access to a well and a creek. With that, clean drinking water is something I never worry about.
Here is why I use the BOROUX Legacy filtration system as my long term solution. The black carbon filters remove harmful contaminants and the filtration is third party tested. What stands out is that the minerals are preserved. You get clean water without stripping the minerals your body needs. It also tastes significantly better.
You can run one, two, three, or four filters. A four filter setup gives you a potential of twenty four thousand gallons of filtered water. On daily use you can expect major reductions across the board.
Up to 98.9 percent reduction of microplastics.
99.4 percent heavy metal reduction.
99.7 percent removal of disinfection byproducts.
99.6 percent removal of industrial toxins.
99.9 percent removal of pesticides, herbicides and insecticides.
99.5 percent removal of pharmaceutical contaminants.
This is not only about better health. It's about proper preparedness in an emergency scenario. A gravity fed system that requires no power is one of the smartest investments you can make.
The BOROUX Legacy system includes a stainless steel chamber and stainless steel spigot with a lifetime warranty. It also includes a canvas storage tote. Choose two or four filters and stock spare filters for long term redundancy.
If you want a serious water plan in place, this is the system I recommend. It is a ten out of ten.
