THE BIG POINT
Did you know that Samson was the original Superhero - an ordinary man who received supernatural strength from God, with the purpose of bringing hope and freedom!

So let’s learn about Samson! Are you ready?

Samson was born with a special purpose!
Samson was dedicated to God as a baby. God had big plans for him! He was set apart!
An Angel of the Lord visited his parents and gave them clear instructions for Samson’s life:
He wasn’t supposed to eat unclean food like pork.
Samson was never allowed to cut his hair.

Samson was a giant!
God gave Samson great strength.
His strength was super-human!
He was the last judge of Israel.
He was defeating dozens of bad guys all by himself!

Samson had many flaws. He wasn’t perfect.
Even though God had called Samson with a great purpose, Samson still made many mistakes.
He was arrogant, He sinned, and this led to his fall. Samson lost his strength when a girl named Delilah (who was a Philistine) cut his hair. He was then captured, and his eyes were taken out!

God had mercy on Samson and still used him.
Even though Samson made a lot of mistakes, God was still merciful when Samson finally repented.
Samson prayed for God to give him back his strength one more time.
God answered his prayer and at the right moment, Samson used his strength to push against large pillars in the hall where the Philistines were and the building crumbled on the Philistines.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ME?

Our weakness doesn’t stop God in our lives. It’s not about what we have done or can do, it’s about what Jesus has already done. This is why we have victory!

WHAT CAN I DO THIS WEEK?
Ask God to help you make good decisions. Ask God for His strength.

God doesn’t expect us to be perfect
You can find encouragement in that God never uses perfect people, apart from one: Jesus Christ.
Just like Samson, God has set you apart with a purpose!
